I only heard McFly for the first time this year at the beginning of lockdown on my daily mix on spotify. I remember thinking "wow these guys are good I can't believe I've never heard them before" and then I was hooked. 7 months later and here we are :)))
Seeing mcfly support busted on tour at Wembley (in the 2nd row) I fell in love from that moment 😍 yes this makes me feel quite old! As I was only about 15 or 16 back then! Now my 2 and half year old is demanding I play 'growing up' and 'all about you' on repeat on a daily basis! She loves them just as much as me now hahaha
I remember seeing mcfly at a busted concert when I was a we girl I was 8 years old am now 24 now. I still love them they are the best band in the world 😘😘😘💖💖💖
I can't remember what song I heard first (I think it was That Girl), but I remember it was off Room on the Third Floor in 2007, when I was 14. I'm in the US so there wasn't a big presence here, but they were a recommended band based on whatever I was listening to. I did *ahem* download it online at the time *ahem* and remember listening to that entire album on the bus the entire way to school, through all my free periods, and back home again for about a month straight.
I kept trying to find the physical copies of the album in any store I could find (not knowing that I would not be able to get them here) and then just kept listening to everything I could online. I just remember feeling like I could not understand why they got no appreciation here, because they were obviously the best...OBVIOUSLY. Cut to 13 years later and I finally have been able to get a physical copy of one of their albums!
(Also, I did go back and by digital versions of all the albums because I felt bad for downloading them, since the boys are great hardworking people...and treat the burned cds as if they were real lol)
Don't really remember much from early on, remember hearing "it's all about you" early 2005 and my baby started kicking so that quickly became bumps song. June 2005 I went to see another boyband arrive at the airport and McFly were there, they weren't my first choice to talk to but after I'd met **** McFly were still around so we went to talk to them with my then 12 week old baby, 15 years later and she has met them a few times and seen them live as McFly, McBusted, Danny on solo tour, Dougie with A and Harry with the strictly boys.
I'm from Denmark, so realistically I'd say my first memory of them is from Just My Luck.
I only became an actual fan when I saw them as McBusted open for 1D in Copenhagen years ago - my friend had dragged me to the concert, and while I didn't think 1D gave it their all, I remember thinking that McBusted did, even though not a lot of people in the audience knew them or their songs. Went home, did some research and I have been a fan ever since :-)
My first memory was also the Just my luck movie. I'm from mexico and went to the movies and saw them and was immediately thinking they have to be real, this band HAS to exist so when I got home i started looking them up on youtube and ever since that moment, I became obsessed. I still love them as they hold a huge place in my heart. And was strangely happy that not many people knew them in Mexico.
